You’ll be passionate about users and driving the customer experience but also pragmatic, able to adapt to new information and make decisions, fast. Able to understand our business requirements and technical limitations to translate them into sitemaps, user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes, mock-ups and prototypes.
You’ll be joining a talented team of inhouse designers, based largely across UK and Germany, as well as working alongside external agencies and partners. We’re designing the AI enabled product ecosystem that will become the growth engine for GfK – and our design team is critical to realizing this transformation.

You’ll play a critical part in designing the experience for our users – iterating on existing features or working to deliver entirely new propositions. As a Senior designer, you work closely with Product to research, design and deliver designs. You will be the expert and advocate for our users needs, design principals and effective ways of working, mentoring more junior designers as appropriate.
Working in a highly collaborative and embedded manner with Product and Engineering, you and your team will deliver validated and feasible designs to the development squad. You may work closely with one end to end squad or you could support a number of squads depending on business need and priorities.
You will be expected to be hands on – designing and prototyping the overall functionality of products or features (within your area of control), and in order to ensure a great user experience, iterating upon it in accordance with user-testing.
Design and deliver high quality user interactions, experiences, services and visual designs within area of responsibility, on time and to expected level of quality and fidelity
Work closely with product design and engineering teams to understand requirements and create robust design briefs – identifying objectives and appropriate metrics to evaluate performance against business and user needs
Advocate for evidence-based product and design decisions – conducting user research/testing and stakeholder interviews to gather evidence and requirements, working with your team to synthesise and share findings and provide rationale for decisions
Collaborate with wider design team to understand impact of design decisions on broader user experience, working within or contributing to frameworks (design system, data viz library etc) to improve quality and consistency of our platform and experience
Work with subject matter experts and colleagues outside own team to understand viability and feasibility of solutions to support effective prioritisation and trade-off decisions
Proactively communicate with stakeholders to manage expectations and dependencies for assigned area of responsibility
Be an active participant and drive improvements in design team rituals to grow our team culture and improve knowledge sharing/collaboration
Act as a strong advocate for design thinking in our org - mentoring design and non-designers, identifying opportunities for improvements and presenting insights or knowledge sharing with the broader business
