Mission of the role
GfK is seeking a Senior Test Engineer for a Leadership Role - Senior Test Engineer with experience in requirement analysis, test design, REST API testing, Web / Mobile Application Testing and Test Automation. Ideal candidate should have 5 to 8 years of hands on experience in test automation.
As a Senior Software Test Engineer you will have the following key accountabilities:
Building up and leading the Testing Team to the success of projects as per Chapter system
Defining the scope of testing within the context of each release/delivery
Develop test strategy, test plans and test cases for projects
GUI, functional and non-functional testing and automation of web and mobile applications by applying latest techniques in test automation
Design, implementation and delivery of scalable, maintainable, configurable, portable and robust test automation frameworks
Apply automated tools to support the testing of applications across all phases of the SDLC
Define and implement test data management for the product
Applying the appropriate test measurements and metrics in the product and the Testing Team
Planning, deploying and managing the testing effort for any given engagement
Monitor and enforce all processes and procedures for testing as per standards defined by the organization
Proactively escalate quality issues and highlighting risks, providing risk analysis, identifying application bottlenecks and planning
Coach/mentor junior members of the team to ensure high quality deliverables, on-time delivery and manage the overall performance of direct reports
Now that you know what a Senior Software Test Engineer does, what skills, qualifications and experience do you need?
Good experience with 2 or more programming/scripting languages like C#/Java/TypeScript/JS/Python
Worked on variety of frameworks and libraries like TestNG, BDD - Cucumber, Mocha and Chai
Hands on experience of automating web applications using Selenium/Cypress
Thorough understanding of CI principles.
Hands-on experience in setting up & running automated tests through CI/CD pipeline
Strong knowledge in Version Control software such as Bitbucket/GitHub/GitLab
Solid API and Web Services testing skills (REST, WebAPI)
Knowledge in Performance/Scalability Testing is a plus (JMeter)
Experience using JSON/XML objects
Familiar with Docker/Kubernetes
Demonstrate knowledge of Jira
Proficiency in written and spoken English
It would be a great addition if you have:
Hands on experience of automating mobile apps using Appium is a big plus
Experience or Knowledge of other open source automation frameworks like Protactor, WebDriverIO, etc. is a plus
Good at seeing/identifying edge cases
