Job Description

The data supply coordinator role is an operational role within the German Data-In business group, working in the local Data In teams.  Key responsibilities include visits and discussions with existing and prospective new data suppliers to explain data requirements, client support, data evaluation and GfK data supply setup through to signoff to live production.

The data supply coordinator will also take ownership of improving existing retailer data supply and metadata information from a content, structure, quality and speed perspective.

The German Data In team is responsible for ensuring that all data supplied from retailers is delivered on time and is processed within the agreed schedules to a high standard. 

This role requires strong technical IT skills and the ability to interrogate retailers’ databases or systems to help them deliver effective data to GfK; a good client services approach and the ability to learn internal tools quickly.  The individual should have the aptitude to work in a fast paced environment whilst maintaining high quality standards.

Main Responsibilties

  • Carry out visits (can also be via Teams or telephone) to existing and new retailers to optimise data deliveries in terms of content, structure, quality, security and speed. KPI´s will be based on e.g. % of DIO (Data In Optimisation) problems solved, % of problematic retailers fixed, etc.
  • Assist retailers in the regular supply of data ensuring GfK Direct Data Deliveries requirements are reviewed and understood by the client.
  • Use the relevant data management processes to set up a new data supply
  • Use technical ability to assist retailers in using their internal tools to supply GfK with optimal data.
  • Guiding the setup process from initiation to signoff involving the appropriate teams
  • Assessing data quality of new and existing retailers
  • Offer expert advice to retailers on how to make improvements to their existing data supply content and fulfil GfK´s data requirements better
  • Effectively use global processes and tools to improve speed and quality
  • Work with the Data In team to ensure that existing and new data is processed to agreed schedules
  • Help the Data In team to establish any processing problems and promptly identify and correct
  • Work with the retailer service team to ensure regular contact with data suppliers to improve delivery and content
  • Work closely with the local Data In and retail teams to ensure they understand any new retailers, systems and processes that are introduced
  • Maintain retailer confidentiality at all times

Technical Skills

  • High skill level within Microsoft office suite, particularly within Excel and Access
  • In-depth proven knowledge in databases, data processing and data interrogation
  • Knowledge of retail software solutions (EPOS/MRI/ERP systems) is a plus
  • Good technical skills (ability to write and edit VBA macros desirable)
  • Ability to understand and analyse data and metadata
  • Proven experience of learning new systems
  • Data processing experience (desirable)

  • Customer/client service skills with a ability to develop strong relationships
  • Excellent written and oral communication in German and very good English knowledge
