Map of the Month: GfK Retail Turnover for Furniture, Germany 2021

GfK’s Map of the Month for August illustrates the regional distribution of brick-and-mortar retail turnover for furniture in Germany.

GfK has calculated a turnover volume of €25.9 billion for Germany's brick-and-mortar furniture retail. Brick-and-mortar retail turnover is most concentrated in Germany's districts with the largest populations. Berlin is the undisputed frontrunner with a turnover of more than €947.0 million, which equates to 3.66 percent of the country's total furniture retail turnover. Hamburg places second with a retail turnover for furniture of €474.8 million (1.84 percent). Regarding retail turnover for furniture measured by the number of inhabitants, the district of Würzburg ranks first with €210.5 million and a share of 0.81 percent.
