Map of the Month: Building permits for residential buildings, Germany

GfK’s Map of the Month for March shows the regional distribution of building permits for residential buildings in Germany.

According to the latest study “GfK Base Data 2022”, most building permits for buildings intended for residential use are issued in Germany's two most populous cities, Berlin (1,954) and Hamburg (1,589), followed by the district of Emsland (1,573). The last place in the ranking is occupied by the district of Kempten (Allgäu) with only 12 newly planned residential buildings.
