Job Description

As the Senior Accountant overseeing Romania, Bulgaria, and Poland at GfK, your role will involve servicing our Consumer Panel business within these regions. Collaborating with a team dedicated to working with top food manufacturers, beverage companies, and leading retailers, you'll contribute to designing research initiatives aimed at addressing tangible business challenges.

We seek an individual who embodies the qualities of a team player, possesses strong analytical skills, and demonstrates adaptability in a professional setting. This person should be enthusiastic about collaborating within a team of friendly, like-minded colleagues.

This role will be a fixed term until the end of December 2024.

As a Senior Accountant for Romania, Bulgaria and Poland you will have following key accountabilities: 

  • accounting end to end processes for Romania, Bulgaria and Poland
    • Receivables and Payables Accounting
    • Asset Accounting
    • Bank Accounting
    • General ledger accounting incl. Accrual Process and Revenue Recognition
  • performance of Trial Balance and Balance Sheet Reconciliation,  
  • preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports in accordance with local legislation and IFRS
  • control and optimization of operational accounting processes in cooperation with the Shared Services Center in IN and RO
  • support external Audits
  • working in an international team to perform the accounting tasks from an end to end perspective

Now that we've introduced you to the position as Senior Accountant, what skills, qualifications and experience should you have?

  • 4+ years of responsibility and execution within a global accounting function providing general ledger support
  • B.S. in Accounting
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, Experience in SAP, Proficient in English
  • Detail-oriented, analytical and metrics-driven leveraging data to support business decisions
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Desire to receive feedback and implement changes in a highly iterative manner
  • Impeccable integrity and empathy; words and actions must continually reinforce this characteristic.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic and changing environment
  • Ability to persevere and demonstrate resilience to obstacles and persist tirelessly towards set goals
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for coordination with internal and external partners.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to meet tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
