European Commission approves YouGov as a buyer of GfK’s Consumer Panel business

  • EC provides purchaser approval, marks major milestone toward divestment of GfK’s European Consumer Panel business
  • Divestment as part of anti-trust approvals of combining NIQ and GfK

Nuremberg, December 20, 2023 – GfK GmbH (“GfK”) received approval from the European Commission for the proposed divestment of GfK's European Consumer Panel business to YouGov plc (“YouGov”).

The European Commission has approved the proposed divestment of GfK's European Consumer Panel business to YouGov, allowing for completion of the transaction. The divestment is a condition to the combination of NIQ and GfK, which was completed in July this year.

The sale of GfK CP is a precondition of NIQ and GfK as it addresses competition concerns of the European Commission.
