Job Description

We're now looking for a Data Scientist to join our Data Team. In this role you will play a pivotal role in leveraging data and analytics to drive solutions empowering data-driven decision-making across the organization. The incumbent will work closely with various stakeholders to understand business needs, analyse complex datasets, and provide actionable insights to enhance operational efficiency and drive strategic initiatives. 

As a Data Scientist you will have the following key accountabilities:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. 
  • Proven experience working as a Data Scientist or in a similar role. 
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and familiarity with data manipulation libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Polars or data.table). 
  • Strong understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms, including supervised and unsupervised learning methods. 
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly) to effectively communicate insights. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and analytically. 
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences. 

Now that we've introduced you to the position as Data Scientist what skill, qualifications and experience should you have?

  • Experience working with diverse data sources, including structured and unstructured data. 
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis methods and experimental design principles. 
  • Familiarity with SQL and database systems for data extraction and manipulation. 
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and big data management. 
  • Effectively communicate insights and findings to internal and external stakeholders, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making. 

Technologies and standards 

  • Programming Languages: Python, R and SQL 
  • Data Manipulation Libraries: Pandas, NumPy, Polars 
  • Version Control with Git. 
  • Machine Learning Frameworks: Scikit-learn, XGBoost, HugginFace 
  • Embrace AI tools and frameworks such as ChatGPT or Github Copilot 
  • Data Visualization Tools: Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly 
  • Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud 
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Strong storytelling skills to effectively communicate insights. 
  • English with good communication skills. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
