Job Description
Our Nordic Consumer Panel Services team, now part of YouGov, is expanding to the Norwegian market. For this exciting journey, CPS teams up with Heco et al, who developed an app called Optius to passively collect purchase data to understand buying behaviour. Based on this data, CPS will create a nationally representative consumer panel to provide shopper insights on the Norwegian FMCG and retail industry.
Therefore we are looking for a proactive and motivated Product Classification Specialist, who is ready to make this next step a reality together with us.
As Product Classification Specialist, you will have the following key accountabilities:
- You support in setting up a database that covers the Norwegian FMCG market and map out the Norwegian retail landscape.
- You classify or code products in different product groups, taking into account relevant features.
- You continuously maintain, update and adjust classification of our product database.
- You aim to enhance the database and coding quality to ameliorate recognition and classification of the FMCG data.
- You work closely together with a dedicated and dynamic team for this new initiative, but will be part of a broader team of data management colleagues locally and internationally.
Now that we have introduced you to the position as Product Classification Specialist, what skills, qualifications and experience should you have?
- You’ve obtained a secondary school or bachelor’s degree, preferably in an administrative, business or marketing related field; a first professional experience is a plus.
- You have an analytical brain, yet you are fond of looking for creative and innovative solutions.
- You have a keen eye for detail in data handling and working with large datasheets, both numeric and character.
- Your heart skips a beat when you hear FMCG or retail topics and you have a clear interest in the Norwegian market.
- You work effortlessly in Excel and have clear communication skills.
- You are a native Norwegian speaker and you combine this with a good knowledge of English.
- You are self-driven with a can-do mentality that not only relies on the team but also yourself to overcome the challenges along the way.
