Available now the sixth edition of our GfK E-Bike Monitor!

After five successful editions in 2018 to 2022,  our sixth consumer study on e-bikes is available now! The e-bike study was conducted both in Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and France. In addition to updating the e-bike market and highlighting the latest trends in consumer behavior related to e-bikes, this also enabled us to compare these countries.

We also added two new countries to the GfK E-bike monitor 2023: Denmark and Sweden have been added.  This gives you an even more comprehensive overview of the important countries in Europe.

Rapidly changing (e-)bike market requires new mindset. The bike market is booming. After a period of exponential growth, the market is stabilising and we are moving towards a more mature market. Consumers have more and more choice. The bike market is no longer driven by availability, but by consumer demand.

Especially in this rapidly changing market, it is even more important to examine the effects on buying behaviour and target audience.

What impact on consumer behaviour can we expect now that there is more choice in e-bikes? How will consumers behave when buying a second or third e-bike?

The GfK E-bike Monitor answers those questions and shows where the biggest opportunities lie so that you, as a manufacturer or retailer, can take maximum advantage of the e-bike market. The GfK E-bike Monitor provides the following insights:

  • Which different target groups buy e-bikes and what are the e-bike trends?
  • Which important factors play a role in the buying process?
  • What is the share of online and offline bike shops?
  • The customer journey: which actions, information and retail channels are involved in the buying process of e-bikes?
  • How do people view different bike brands?
