As an Infrastructure Engineer – Site Reliability you will be a part of a Backup and Storage infrastructure team but your focus will be on the automation of operational tasks for faster and more reliable service delivery. You will have the opportunity to use your knowledge and skills for the integration of Cloud solutions with on-premises infrastructure. Last, but not least, you will enhance your ITIL knowledge and work in a dynamic environment applying agile methodology.
We are looking for an IT professional with experience in automation to join GfK’s IT Services team in Sofia. The team is part of a large and diverse global structure of IT hubs, located in Bulgaria, Germany, UK and Malaysia.
As an Infrastructure Engineer – Site Reliability you will have the following key accountabilities:
- Build and maintain a reliable infrastructure using automation and orchestration
- Support the infrastructure architecture development
- Ensure that the infrastructure and applications are appropriately monitored
- Troubleshoot issues with backup application, servers, storage and other infrastructure as required
- Do project management and planning on a large scale (multi-site environment)
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, vendors and external providers
- Implement all necessary operative tasks to guarantee maintenance of operation
- Run applications, services, platforms and network to deliver promised service portfolio according SLAs
- Ensure global IT support, based on follow-the-sun organization as well as 24/7 on-call-duty (one week per 2 months)
- Do Incident resolution and incident management
- Implement changes and do change management
- Record documentation of all executed tasks in a ticket tool and CMDB
- Possess a proactive capacity and skill for performance management of systems and system components
Now that you know what an Infrastructure Engineer – Site Reliability does, what skills, qualifications and experience do you need?
- 5+ years of working experience in IT, at least 2 of them on a site reliability role
- Applicable knowledge about automation of operational tasks, e.g. configuring backup, integrating CMDB
- Applicable knowledge about integration of Cloud solutions, backup, storage, VMware and other infrastructures
- Applicable knowledge about RestAPI, JSON and SQL
- Knowledge about Ansible and Terraform
- IT-related education
- Fluent in English
It would be a great addition if you have knowledge in:
- Backup (e.g. CommVault)
- Visualization solutions like Grafana
- EMC file service products, especially ISILON
- SDS (Ceph)
- VMware ESX 5.x/6.x
- Docker and preferably Kubernetes
- FC based block storage
- SAFe / Agile methodology for planning and implementation of projects / new designs
- ITIL framework
