Energy labels hold a pivotal role amongst the tools that consumers use to help them choose their perfect appliance. But people are not straight forward.

On one hand, they are genuinely placing increasing importance on energy efficiency. On the other hand, they also want the full range of the latest technical features which go hand in hand with the larger capacity appliances that naturally use more energy than the smaller alternatives.
