Retail data is the lifeblood of GfK, supporting everything we do which is why maintaining strong relationship with Retailers is imperative for our business. On top of that the Retail Industry is identified as a high potential sales growth area within GfK. To exploit this potential and further drive profitable across our entire portfolio we are currently seeking a highly talented Key Account Manager (m/f/d) who will be a part of the German Retail Team within our commercial organization.
The Key Account Manager - Retail Sales Germany (m/f/d) will be the interface between GfK and a group of top Retailers in Germany. In this role you will be the trusted adviser to these Retail Partners, leveraging innovative and digital GfK solutions to answer their key business questions. The role will include business growth targets for both new and existing clients, overall responsibility for driving revenue growth with Retailers. As a successful candidate you will have accomplished skills in business development, sales and strategic key account management. In addition you will also have strong interpersonal skills and use these to delve deep relationship into the client business, truly understanding the challenges and needs. You live and breathe clients and are able to demonstrate the value of GfK solutions, helping Retailers securing and growing their business.
As Key Account Manager Retail Sales (m/f/d) for Germany you will have following key accountabilities:
Lead a defined list of accounts on behalf of GfK
Strategically manage overall client relationship , collaborating with across relevant GfK units to provide a client centric experience
Understand Retailers strategies, structures, key business questions and challenges and how GfK can support them in achieving their business goals
Develop new and existing senior level relationships with Retailers to achieve sales growth
Understand and ‘sell’ the value of GfK’s proposition
Lead contract negotiations for new sales, renewals and our partnership program
Grow the revenue base from your accounts, ensuring targets are met or exceeded
Create and effectively manage Key Account Plans, maximizing touchpoints and opportunities, forecast revenue with your clients
Work cross-functionally with Product & Solution Group colleagues to meet and exceed client expectations and work out new opportunities
Acquire and continuously improve market and GfK Portfolio knowledge
Support and deliver Company strategy
Build and maintain an accurate pipeline within the CRM tool (Salesforce)
Now that we've introduced you to the position as Key Account Manager Retail Sales (m/f/d) what skills, qualifications and experience should you possess?
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree
Minimum 3 years of work experience in sales/key account management/consultancy
Willingness to go the extra mile and relentlessly focus on clients
Able to work autonomously and establish own priorities and objectives
Passion, energy and drive, enthusiasm to learn and develop;
A natural ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships
Ability to “actively listen” to clients, identify business opportunities and understand how to commercialize them
Strategic thinking, negotiation and sales closing skills, ideally sales trained
Preparing and presenting strong, storytelling proposals and pitch presentations
Market research knowledge and understanding of methods would be an advantage
Comfortable working across teams, bringing together people from different areas of the business
