Job Description

GfK has a long-term vision to provide best in class digital products and services that help their clients make better decisions, now, and in the future. To help to deliver on this vision, we need a Product designer (UX and UI) to work on and deliver innovative data and workflow products for the platform. Help and be part of the digital transformation of GfK.

We are looking for a Product Designer  Design System, able to understand our business requirements and technical limitations and lead a team to translate them into sitemaps, user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes, mock-ups and prototypes. You will also be expected to design the overall functionality of the product, and in order to ensure a great user experience, iterate upon it in accordance with user-testing.

At GfK, we strive to innovate and push the boundaries of market research products and redefine the relationship between market data and consumers. Our culture is diverse, agile and somewhat relaxed to our processes and we strongly encourage entrepreneurship and initiative. Our data scientists, creatives, developers and product owners collaborate across different disciplines to develop fully integrated solutions.

  • Own design system components - from concept, to documentation, to code

  • Take visual routes, platform principles and concepts into implementation to evolve the look and feel of our platform design language

  • Advocate for and embed the design system across the platform portfolio - supporting designers and engineers across different products and collaborating where the system doesn't meet their needs

  • Proactively seek opportunities to improve and enhance the design system with a view to improving metrics

  • Work with developers and designers to increase reusable components and accelerate design/delivery

Required skills and experience:

  • Demonstrable experience of successfully leading the development, design and deliver of a large scale, commercial design system

  • Advanced competency with Figma

  • Experience designing for accessibility and usability to ensure all users can enjoy our product

  • Pixel-perfect attention to detail

  • The ability to interface with developers and speak their language

  • A natural collaborator, able to work with designers and developers to understand detailed requirements

  • Experience with data visualisations a plus

Desired behaviours:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to clearly articulate ideas and requirements so they are understood by technical & non-technical teams

  • Strong persuasion and relationship building skills to influence others without authority and encourage collaboration between stakeholders

  • Capable of resolving challenges independently, escalating only when appropriate

  • A team player, able to work collaboratively with other members of the team and autonomously when required

  • Excellent self-organisation and ability to plan own work in line with the broader team plans and priorities

  • Contributes to strategy development, community building and knowledge sharing within Design, encouraging others to do the same

Please provide your portfolio with your application.

We offer an exciting work environment that brings people together. We encourage an entrepreneurial and innovative spirit. We make use of the latest digital technologies. We are looking for self-starters, who accept challenges and create solutions.
