Job Description

§ About SIMA (Supply Chain & Industry Market Analytics) §

SIMA is a team of analysts carrying out in-depth analysis on GfK sell-out data and triangulating it with external data points to explain and anticipate developments in the technology-device marketplace. Our mission is to leverage GfK sell-out data to deliver timely, primary and incremental research to semiconductor component suppliers, and branded vendors, globally. We deliver value by providing relevant forecast and analytical support to decision makers. We value ingenuity, simplicity and dedication to the achievement of team objectives. Our team is based in London, Tokyo, Seoul, Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and Taipei, and is a very multi-national group. The combination of locations and a diverse team is a key strength, enabling us to readily serve clients and interact effectively in different markets around the globe.

§ Role §

The role is responsible for sales with Japanese clients. Key targets are semiconductor supply chain vendors such as memory component vendors based in Japan. This is achieved by proper pipeline management, communication with robust understanding on data and analytics and negotiation skills. Typically, this role is required to open the doors at prospects, then build the relationship together with analyst team.

Also, this role is expected to input the client needs into analyst team to improve and develop the new products.

§ Key Responsibilities §

Prospecting: Obtaining new clients in Japan supply chain industry such as component vendors as well as procurement team in device brand organizations. Reach out prospects and build the relationship. Manage the prospect meeting by working together with analyst team.

Client engagement (Post Sell): Proactively reach out to clients for briefings post release publication; share meeting minutes with the analyst teams and sales teams. Strategize and execute on ways to increase client engagement through account planning. Organize onsite client meetings.

Renewals (Post Sell): Secure renewals. This is measured by the renewal rate and achieving/exceeding the renewal quota

Internal and external positioning of SIMA services: Together and in alignment with team leaders positioning of the SIMA product externally e.g. on conferences and internally in GfK.

Product Development: Contribution to SIMA product development and product enhancement by actively scanning the market and competition

§ Experience/Skills §

  • High interests on consumer technology and Forecasting
  • Proven work experience as a sales representative and prospecting experience
  • Highly motivated and target driven with a proven record of sales goal achievement
  • Excellent selling, communication and negotiation skills. Fluent in Japanese and English (written and spoken)
  • Interests and understanding in data and analytics.

  • 販売実績データをもとにした市場分析・予測レポートの営業。対象製品はスマートフォン・TV・PC。
  • 主要ターゲットは上記製品のサプライチェーンに関連する日本の部品・材料メーカで、ディスプレイ関連や半導体関連メーカなど。
  • 新規開拓も含まれ、見込み客の策定からそこへのアプローチ、関係構築、また受注後のフォローアップを含めて担当いただくことを想定しており、


  • 受注後のフォローアップには、日々の顧客とのやり取りのほか契約更新活動、またレポート配信後に行うプレゼンテーションの設定なども含まれます。


  • レポートはアナリストが作成しますが、それを顧客のニーズや課題にどの様に活用いただけるかを提案していくため、


  • また営業活動でヒアリングした顧客ニーズをアナリストにフィードバックし、レポートの内容改善や新しい内容の提案などにも関わっていただけます。


  • スマートフォン・TV・PCなどのデバイスへの関心がある方、関連する業務経験があれば、なお望ましいです。
  • 販売実績データをもとにした市場の分析・予測レポートが製品となるため、データ分析などに関心がある方。
  • 営業経験、特に顧客と長期的な関係を築くことが必要なB2Bの営業経験がある方。
  • 業務に対し意識が高く販売目標を達成した実績がある方。
  • 日本語ネイティブ、英語スキル (アナリストとのコミュニケーションは英語となります。)
