Job Description

GfK is seeking a talented executive to help drive data and innovation – helping create new forms of syndicated products from new types of data and analytics to drive business growth and achieve client objectives. This position is critical to the North America business and will have a core focus in the development and implementation of our data and innovation strategy.

You will have the opportunity to:        

  • Deliver breakthrough insights, strategic direction, and creative solutions to branding and innovation challenges
  • Participate in significant client interaction, including the leading of client need gap analysis and new business development efforts
  • Design and lead qualitative insight approaches like focus groups, ethnographies, one-on-one interviews (consumer & expert); design and facilitate ideation sessions & strategy sessions/workshops
  • Work effectively and collaboratively internally to communicate the vision of the data and innovation team to colleagues and to clients
  • Negotiate, execute, and set the commercial terms for new digital data partnerships
  • Provide guidance and expertise in guiding colleagues to understand the application of the new data assets and products

How you will make an impact:  

  • Lead, mentor, and train sales team members about the new data assets and related products.
  • Integrate new and emerging data / technology, into new products and new client solutions
  • Be an industry expert on behavioral data, AdTech and MarTech ecosystems, with a thorough understanding of how to fit GfK data assets with other innovative 3rd party data providers and/or related technology and analytics providers
  • Present thought leadership within GfK and at industry events
  • Work with Head of Data and Innovation, the Sales team and the Marketing team to define go-to-market strategy and promote new product initiatives

Ideally, you will bring the following:

  • A minimum of 10-15 years of business experience in brand management, or comparable experience
  • Past involvement with influencing and educating organizations and peers
  • Familiarity with both classic market research techniques including working with panels, quantitative and qualitative research techniques and ensuring high quality research outputs
  • Experience working directly with research suppliers, data providers and the like, analyzing business and data partnerships, structuring and negotiating agreements with support from legal and business leadership
  • BA/BS, relevant master’s degree, and MBA from a leading business school preferred
