What We Do:
MRI-Simmons measures consumer preferences, attitudes, and behaviors. We do this by collecting data through surveys and passively measured data in a way that is representative of the general population, applying data science and making sense of consumer data through enterprise-grade software. Marketers and media companies then use MRI-Simmons data and technology to develop marketing strategies, consumer segmentation schemes and media activation approaches. The MRI-Simmons Insights Product is a consumer intelligence and discovery platform that provides marketers with faster access to actionable consumer insights.
We are looking for an experienced Director, Software Engineer to oversee all Infrastructure and vendor functions in our company. You will oversee a team of IT managers and manage the company’s technology operations and the implementation of new IT systems and policies. An excellent Director, Software Engineer is very knowledgeable in cloud systems. They have a solid technical background while able to manage and motivate people. The ideal candidate will be experienced in creating and implementing IT policies and systems that will meet objectives. The goal is to ensure our infrastructure, vendors, and people are effective and functioning within the limits of budget, time, and specifications of the company.
As the Director, Software Engineer, you will have following key accountabilities:
Demonstrated ability and success building and leading an operations-focused engineering team
A minimum of 7 years’ experience developing production-grade systems
A minimum of 5 years’ experience managing developers
Prior experience building, releasing, and maintaining complex scalable systems
Ability to distill down complex problems to make them tractable for the organization
Experience driving change through an organization
Proven ability to scale systems and processes
Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration
Experience in Azure infrastructure
Experience managing remote engineers

Oversee and manage third-party vendors tasked with managing day-to-day support of interviewers regarding in-field mobile devices and Tech Desk support, including creating and maintaining documentation of all policies and procedures
You'll lead/manage a team of software engineers to develop applications, working closely with the VP of Architecture to scale our technology and the Engineering organization
You will be responsible for growing and mentoring your team to meet the increasing demands of the business
Provide technical and organizational leadership across the engineering team
Work closely with the VP of Architecture and other key internal stakeholders to develop and manage the engineering roadmap
Drive technical projects and planning
Coach team members to encourage professional and career growth
Ensure consistent quality for design and code reviews by developing team standards
Disseminate information across the organization, and have strategic influence
