Job Description

Procurement Specialist is responsible to deliver operational procurement services to GfK legal entities by ensuring effective and efficient performance of operational procure-to-pay processes and tasks, supported by procurement systems. Optimizes procurement of goods, services and materials creating a basis for maintaining a high level of delivery capability and reliability for project and functional requirements to be fulfilled.

As a Procurement Specialist, you will have the following key accountabilities:

  • Accountable for the operational procurement processes from purchase requisitions / Shopping Carts (SC) to order confirmation
  • Transferring internal purchase requests into Purchase Orders (PO) using procurement systems in order to guarantee timely availability of goods, services and materials
  • Tracing the ordering and delivery processes of suppliers and takes corrective expediting actions
  • Actively contributing to cooperation with all other stakeholder functions / partners
  • Ensuring compliance in accordance to Procurement Guideline, along mandatory tools and in accordance to internal approval guideline(s)
  • Responsible for catalogue management execution and improvement
  • Processing requests on creation and continuous maintenance of new or change of existing supplier master data

Now that you know what a Procurement Specialist does, what skills, qualifications and experience do you need?

  • 1+ year of relevant procurement experience in an international company, preferably within a SSC environment
  • University degree (Business Administration, Accounting or related field)
  • Ability to cooperate and interact effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Extensive operative purchasing skills
  • Very good understanding of customer’s services landscape
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, and shift priorities quickly as required
  • Excellent level English language
  • German language will be considered an advantage
  • SAP-SRM/MM experience
  • Full proficiency with MS Office suite
