Job Description
The Lead Syndicated Research Consultant is fundamentally responsible for ensuring the continued success of the Tech360 product – and this includes setting the overall strategy for the solution and developing it as the clients and the market develop, ensuring client satisfaction by working with them closely on insights and analysis to address tactical and strategic business needs, and supporting the wider team – who you lead- with day-to-day client interactions and broader presentations.
Tech360 is a key part of our syndicated solution offering in the UK. It has grown rapidly over the past three years and continues to expand its reach and coverage. The solution focuses on mobile, Pay TV and broadband for the Telco industry and is used by leading players as a key data source for understanding the market landscape and size, including the who's, what's, why's and how's of consumer decision making. Client interaction is at the heart of this role. You will work in partnership with the Tech360 clients to truly understand their key business questions, design analysis that not only brings in Tech360 data but also utilizes other GfK solutions (e.g. POS, Consumer Life, CCB) to create compelling stories that help them to understand what to do next. If you’re a people person this would be ideal as the day-to-day role involves working closely with other departments across the business, from MI on integrating data and presentations, to commercial on new business and renewals, to marketing sciences on data weighting and imputation and with Operations on managing the day-to-day running of the product. .
However, being able to work with and draw out useful insights from highly complex data is an absolute must. The telco market involves interactions of multiple products, devices, operators and manufacturers, and our questionnaire and dataset reflects this complexity. The successful candidate must have an eye for detail and be able to manage spinning plates across the survey lifecycle to ensure a robust process for data collection and data delivery, and they must be able to grasp the inner workings of the resulting data and translate this into actionable insights for clients.
Responsibilities:
Client management:
Build and manage relationships and ways of working
Manage multiple client personas, agendas and demands whilst upholding the integrity of the syndicated solution
Support team in prompt turnaround of KPIs and ongoing requests
Understand and support client strategy
Business development to support opportunities for adding new clients as well as selling other modules to existing clients and looking for opportunities to cross-sell other GfK solutions
Project management:
Work with PMs and wider team to ensure all key milestones are hit for questionnaire development, scripting, fieldwork, data processing, weighting, reporting and analysis
Oversee deliverable management across all clients
Team Management:
Leadership skills to lead team effectively and ensure all product and client work delivered
Recruitment alongside head of syndicated
Line management alongside head of syndicated
Provide day-to-day support for all team members
Experience / aptitude for highly complex survey and dataset:
Advise on quotas
Control and update questionnaire content
Check and sign-off questionnaire link alongside pms – take a hands-on role in this aspect
Multi-level / weighting dataset management
Understand existing variables and build new variables as required
Manage weighting process for up to ten weights per quarter
Adjust weighting process if/when MI reporting changes
Quality control
Ensure existing processes are followed
Implement new processes where required
Data, analysis, presentation:
