Job Description

About you

  • You have 2+ years of experience designing and implementing cloud-based solutions (we use AWS).

  • You understand the benefits of an immutable infrastructure and you enjoy enabling self-service deployments through continuous delivery pipelines.

  • You’re always looking for ways to use infrastructure-as-code to achieve security and compliance at scale.

  • You thrive in a collaborative DevOps culture and you love to work as part of a cross-functional agile team.

As a Site Reliability Engineer you will have the following key accountabilities:

  • Develop and implement internal concepts, reference implementations, and best practices to be used by other agile product delivery teams designed to mature their own infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines

  • Part of a team of Site Reliability and Cloud Engineers that guides and partners with product delivery teams made up of developers, data scientists, product owners and technical architects

  • Influence architectural decisions with focus on security, scalability, cost, high-performance and future development of the technology stack

  • Setting up and maintaining monitoring, metrics and reporting systems for fine-grained observability with actionable alerting

Now that you know what a Site Reliability Engineer does, what skills, qualifications and experience do you need?

  • Hands-on experience in Linux and cloud infrastructure management (monitoring, performance testing, deployment), automating, advising on changes and innovations

  • You are a team player and enjoy working on complex problems together with your teammates

  • Your working style can be described as supportive and collaborative

  • Solid knowledge of technical architecture and modern design patterns

  • Experience with setting up and supporting CI/CD pipelines and tooling such as Gitlab

  • Experience with workflow management / processes engines (Airflow)

  • Experience with monitoring & alerting (Prometheus, Grafana), and Incident Management

  • Experience with developing in Python (preferred) or Go

  • Familiarity with configuration management (ansible, saltstack, puppet)

  • Familiarity with distributed data storage at scale (Hadoop, Spark, AWS EMR, AWS Glue)

  • Familiarity with data aggregation technologies. (ElasticSearch, Kafka)

  • Familiarity with scaling and running traditional RDBMS (PostgreSQL, MySQL) with high availability
