Consumer Panel Services GfK (CPS) is a growing business with a newly built & developing legal organization with excellent career opportunities.

Reporting to our President CPS , the General Counsel Lead is responsible for managing and leading a small (x6 ) legal team, overseeing all CPS legal matters and providing strategic legal counsel to guide CPS' continued growth. The General Counsel Lead defines legal and compliance strategy across the CPS business, championing legal and compliance best practice. The successful post holder will work closely with senior internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure the legal function is aligned with the company's objectives. The successful post holder will be a senior legal professional with a comprehensive understanding of data privacy, IP, B2B contracts and corporate governance and have demonstrable experience of leading a legal team within a B2B international business.

You will:

  • Lead and monitor implementation of Global Legal & Compliance strategy across the CPS business.
  • Deliver legal advice to functional, local and regional leaders, business partners as well as other support functions
  • Advise on legal & compliance aspects related to implementation of new products
  • Manage and protect the company's intellectual property assets, including trademarks, copyrights, and patents
  • Oversee compliance with data protection laws and regulations, ensuring robust data privacy and security practices
  • Advise on corporate governance matters, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Drive effective implementation of legal & compliance guidelines, procedures and controls
  • Draft, review, and negotiate on business critical and higher value contracts, including client agreements, vendor contracts, and partnership agreements
  • Guide use of standard contract templates
  • Deliver legal & compliance trainings to employees on legal matters, compliance, and ethical business practices.

You have:

  • Significant previous experience of managing local corporate administrative activities, including authorization of representatives, board changes, business licenses, notarization/legalization
  • Qualifications in Law degree (LL.B, LL.M, foreign qualified lawyer etc.)
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant professional experience as a lead or senior within an international law firm or legal department of an internationally operating B2B company
  • Comprehensive knowledge in the field of IP/IT law, economic and general contract law
  • Sound knowledge in the processing of English-language and international contracts
  • Knowledge in the area of antitrust law advantageous
  • Interest in economic and technical, in particular IT, data and consulting topics
  • Fluent English language skills
  • Good working practice experience across MS office suite
