Job Description

This position is an integral part of the M&A team and responsible for leading global deal execution across all divisions to drive GfK’s growth through acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic alliances, investments as well as divestitures.

Essential Duties and Specific Responsibilities include:

  • Primary lead in deal execution including identifying acquisition targets, negotiating deal terms, valuation and financial analyses, coordinating due diligence and integration.
  • Source investment opportunities, identifying potential acquisition targets tied to GfK’s strategy and creating an acquisition pipeline.
  • Oversee all financial analyses including valuation and returns analysis of potential transactions.
  • Coordinate the due diligence and integration process across regional and functional teams. 
  • Present to senior leadership on transactions including deal status and recommendations, other research and M&A activity.
  • Partner with internal business leaders and CEOs of potential targets to evaluate investment opportunities, develop business plans and drive acquisition process.
  • Support post-merger integration; monitor financial performance and track investment performance.
  • Manage key roles within the M&A and supporting teams.  Lead and motivate staff to deliver against company strategic objectives.
  • Conduct market research and strategic fit analyses.

Requirements, Experience and Skills:

  • Proven track record in successfully leading the execution of M&A deals; strong understanding of the market research, data and analytics and software industries
  • Total of 7-10 years of relevant work experience:  3-5 years in investment banking experience or other advisory service plus 3-5 years in corporate development or corporate M&A function
  • Proven experience in financial modeling  and valuation techniques including building complex financial models
  • Ability to partner at the C-level, is self-confident and comfortable working independently
  • International transaction experience preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required; MBA is preferred.
