Data Assets and Innovation drives new product innovation within GfK Custom Research North America. The team identifies new opportunities based on client needs and business needs, new data partnerships and new ways to combine existing and new data assets, analytical processes and more. The team formulates new products in partnership with the various GfK business units.
The Data and Innovation Manager is a hybrid role within the GfK Data Assets and Innovation unit - approximately 50% of the time will be to support existing initiatives, the other 50% of the position will be to identify, create, support and foster new product and partnership initiatives.
This position is responsible helping develop and then help launch the successful commercialization of new data products and other innovations at GfK North America.
Data and Innovation Development Management (approx. 50%):
Work with clients (internal and/or external) to understand, define current and potential unmet needs and help define potential solutions to those needs applying the jobs to be done methodology and other similar approaches.
Help develop priority business and client innovation requirements and roadmaps.
Develop and manage a new data and analytics partner outreach strategy tied to the data and innovation strategy and specific client needs.
Manage project timeline and status updates to the development of new product and partner initiatives
Work with the internal stakeholders to understand what types of products could be formed from new data and analytics partners
Develop expertise about data and product innovations and their practical applications
Work with marketing to create sales and marketing collateral to communicate new offers internally and externally
Assist with developing targeted sales presentations for qualified prospects and in response to RFPs.
Lead, mentor, and train one or more salespeople who provide key support in client projects
Identify opportunities to use client pilots and other tests to showcase our innovative thought leadership and strengthen our competitive positioning and work with client teams and clients to make it possible.
Collaborate with internal resources to develop and pilot new research methodologies and analytical approaches.
Work effectively and collaboratively internally to communicate the vision for the data and innovation efforts and for specific initiatives
Take strong supporting role in new business efforts in innovation education, proposal development and client pitching.
New Initiative Management (approximately 50%):
Provide day-to-day client support and responding to fast-turnaround client data requests and inquiries regarding new product and data solutions. Answer questions and instill confidence in our clients around the new solutions and services.
Work with internal teams to apply new product innovation to RFPs, RFIs and client pitches
Consult in overall study design that pilots new solutions, lead in design aspects central to new solutions
Significant direct interaction with senior management and relevant client interaction while supporting the delivery of new initiatives
Active management of the portfolio of new innovation driven projects to ensure initiatives are meeting deadlines and milestones
Opportunities to present results from successful projects to internal and external audiences
Ensure that all reporting requirements from partners are being met and contractual obligations are being fulfilled as first projects with new partners are launched
Work with Head of Data and Innovation and the Marketing team to define go-to-market strategy and promote new product initiatives
Experience and Skills:
Minimum 5 years progressive experience working in market research. Knowledge of or expressed interest in consumer behavior and trends.
Excellent organizational, process and project management skills with a love of managing details
