Mission of the role

You are a passionate software engineer who knows the ins and outs of software engineering and how it fits the broader SDLC. Modelling the world, thinking in terms of design patterns, object-oriented design, functional programming, test driven development are your second nature. You have written several applications from scratch and many are still in production to the delight of their users. You enjoy working in a team of likeminded professionals and keen to provide feedback on other's code as well as act on feedback received on yours. You are used to working in agile teams delivering small, incremental improvements through continuous delivery pipelines. You are proud of the quality, security and robustness of the code you write, and because you write your code with an in depth understanding of the execution environment these qualities translate to the systems

you implement as well.

As a Senior Front-end Software Engineer (Chapter Lead) you will have the following key accontabilities:

• Take care of one or more projects, if capacity allows

• Hire, maintain and develop the team members for the aforementioned projects

• Work with UX Specialists on researching the user flows, UI bottlenecks, UX issues, and cross-project usage patterns

• Regular maintenance and improvement of a product

• Optimize applications for simplicity and overall performance

• Be a bridge in collaboration with back-end developers and product owners

• Write functional requirement documents and guides

• Prototyping, PoC, and other means of decision-making research

• Assist API development with coding and troubleshooting

• Ensure high-quality graphic standards and brand consistency

• Be on the edge of technologies and spread the word to fellow colleagues

Now that you know what a Senior Front-end Software Engineer (Chapter Lead) does, what skills, qualifications and experience do you need?

• Proven work experience as a Front-end developer by quality, instead of quantity of years

• Unbiased opinion about tech, frameworks, and libraries

• Being able to tell the difference between major frameworks and assist during the decision phase

• Familiarity with browser testing and debugging, including unit-testing, e2e testing basics, and production debugging

• In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development, and deployment)

• An eye for reusability of components

• An ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment

• Excellent analytical and multitasking skills
