This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and creative internal and external communications professional to lead the newsroom communications team to create compelling and inspiring stories and updates for our people and the outside world, with a high focus on internal communications, the times of change and transformation, as well as around usual business activity and performance.
Your role will be to further develop our newsroom strategy and plan and deliver a wide range of internal and external communications campaigns and activities. You will also drive specific change communication initiatives, in away that supports, builds and fosters our culture. This role will be a key part of the organization development, ensuring that
communications play a strong role in building and reinforcing our culture, as well as driving performance and engagement.
Key tasks & responsibilities:
Lead the development of GfK’s internal/newsroom communications strategy and plans.
Bring the plans to life through clear, consistent, creative and compelling multi-channel internal communications campaigns and activities.
Work with key stakeholders across the business to ensure that all internal communication messages, activities and scheduling align with and support the business strategy, brand proposition, people and workplace strategies.
Alignment with external communications & Marketing to create a consistent picture of GfK towards all relevant stakeholders.
Work directly with senior stakeholders and business functions to develop and deliver best in class change communications including developing content and helping them to deliver key messages with impact.
Develop the editorial proposition for our internal channels (e.g. intranet, app, screens, newsletters, etc.) and oversee and sign-off content across all channels.
Create tools and frameworks to enable and empower effective communications across the business.
Lead the newsroom team.
You will report to the VP Communications & Public Affairs.
A strong background in creating, leading and delivering impactful internal and external communications strategies, plans and campaigns, aligned to the business and communications strategy.
An open minded, creative, flexible attitude
Profound knowledge of intranets as communication and collaboration platforms. In addition you are a team worker and like to take over responsibility.
A strong track-record in leading internal communications for complex international organizations.
Excellent writing, editing and proofreading capabilities
Outstanding organizational and event management skills.
A networker gene and intuitive understanding of how to best set, monitor and measure communications activities with a view to continually improving deliveries.
Sound and demonstrable knowledge of corporate communication and change communication.
The following functional requirements are needed:
University degree, e.g. in Communications/PR, Language/Cultural or other fields with relevance for this position.
At least 5 years of experience in Internal Communications and 3 years in External Communications.
Working constructively with top executives/ higher managers and peers (listening, conflict management, comfort around higher management & peer relationships).
Operating in complex environments (dealing with ambiguity, problem solving & decision quality).
Profound knowledge of internal channels as communication and collaboration platforms.
Excellent verbal and written English and German skills.
