Peter Goldschmidt completes GfK’s Supervisory Board

Pharma executive fills vacant place

The Supervisory Board of GfK SE is once again complete. Peter Goldschmidt, 52, was court-appointed on December 2, 2016. As President, Sandoz Inc., and Head North America, Goldschmidt has been responsible for the North American operations of the pharmaceutical company Sandoz since 2013.

Goldschmidt studied Sociology, Politics and Economic Geography at the University of Muenster. His time with Sandoz and Novartis in Europe, Asia and the USA means that Goldschmidt brings a wealth of international management experience to the Supervisory Board of the world’s fifth-largest market research group. Goldschmidt has wide-ranging knowledge and experience related to the market research industry, as well as to marketing, sales, manufacturing, product development and the management of multi-billion businesses.

Ralf Klein-Bölting, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of GfK SE: “I am delighted about the passion and diverse experience that Peter Goldschmidt brings from an industry which is one of the most important for market research and also undergoing a digital transformation.”

The court appointment initiated by GfK means the Supervisory Board with ten members is complete again. The vacancy arose – as previously reported – when former Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Dr. Arno Mahlert, resigned on September 13, with Ralf Klein-Bölting subsequently elected as his replacement.
