Heinrich A. Litzenroth Clinic: building work starts
September 3, 2008 – Work is beginning on the “Heinrich A. Litzenroth Memorial Healthcare Centre” located on Sri Lanka’s East Coast funded by donations from GfK. After an initial delay, the clinic is being built in civil war-torn Sri Lanka in cooperation with the UN-HABITAT agency of the United Nations. The centre is scheduled for completion in the middle of next year.

GfK Group achieves dynamic growth in second quarter
Nuremberg, August 28, 2008 – The GfK Group recorded a successful second quarter in 2008. The Group achieved excellent sales growth in organic terms of 11.4%. Adjusted operating income rose by 13.4% to EUR 43.8 million compared with the second quarter of 2007. With a figure of 13.6%, the margin, which represents the ratio of adjusted operating income to sales, was above the same quarter in the prior year when it stood at 13.2%.

Ad hoc Announcement - Termination of discussions regarding a possible offer for Taylor Nelson Sofres plc (“TNS”)
27 August 2008 - Further to the announcement on 1 August confirming that GfK was pursuing an offer for TNS, the Management Board of GfK (the “Management Board”) announces that it has terminated all discussions in relation to financing for a possible offer and that GfK will therefore not be pursuing an offer for TNS.

August 7, 2008 – The GfK Group acquired 100% ownership of US company Arbor Strategy Group (ASG) on August 1, 2008. ASG, a leading strategic brand innovation consulting firm, will trade under the name of GfK Strategic Innovation in future.

Response to announcement by WPP Group plc
August 1, 2008 – The Management Board of GfK notes the announcement released by the WPP Group plc (“WPP”) at 4pm this afternoon, in which WPP confirmed the posting of the Offer Document in relation to their unsolicited offer for Taylor Nelson Sofres plc (“TNS”).
