GfK Group starts a challenging 2008 with a sound first quarter
May 15, 2008 – The GfK Group achieved satisfactory sales growth in the first three months of 2008. At the same time, the increase in operating income, EBIT and consolidated total income was significant in the first quarter of 2008 compared with the same period in the prior year; growth in adjusted operating income was more moderate than in 2007, but in line with the trend for financial year 2006.

Germany: consumers regain confidence
April 28, 2008 – The mood among German consumers markedly improved in April. The economic outlook indicator, income expectations and the propensity to buy all climbed significantly. As a result, the consumer climate indicator for May is forecasting a value of 5.9 points after a revised 4.8 points in April.

GfK expands its network in Europe and Latin America
April 9, 2008 – GfK has acquired Turkish market research company Bilesim International, along with the remaining 34% of shares in Swiss company GfK Research Matters. In the Retail and Technology sector, GfK has taken over both Brazilian market research institute, Shopping Brasil, and the watch panel of French market research company, Société V.
