Confidence in politicians and managers remains low
August 8, 2008 – People trust politicians less than any other group. Only 14% of respondents in Europe believe that their political representatives are trustworthy. The reputation of advertising experts and managers of major companies is also rather tarnished. Citizens in Europe believe that the fire service and doctors are the most trustworthy, followed by teachers and postal services. These are the findings of the latest GfK Trust Index survey carried out by GfK Custom Research.

Purchasing power – Europe’s main concern for the first time
July 31, 2008 – The list of European concerns is topped for the first time by rapidly spreading worries regarding purchasing power and price trends. Conversely, concern about unemployment has eased considerably and this issue has moved into second place in the list of concerns, also for the first time. Further down the list by a long margin appear issues such as crime, pensions and retirement provisioning as well as housing and rents.

Preliminary information concerning the 2008 Interim Results
July 28, 2008 – The GfK Group’s order book at the end of June 2008 is clearly stronger than at the same time last year. Orders already invoiced and booked for the remainder of the year account for 76.4% of the total projected 2008 Financial Year sales. This puts GfK 2.3% above the previous year’s level. The order book is a good indicator of the development of GfK Group’s sales.
