Which professions do you provide apprenticeships for in the GfK Group in Germany?

There are apprenticeships for the following jobs in Germany: qualified employees for market and social research, qualified business employee for office communications, IT specialist for application development and system integration, IT officer.

What should my application for an apprenticeship look like?

Unless otherwise specified, your online application should include the following documents as an attachment:

  • Application letter giving details about yourself and why you wish to train for this particular job
  • Tabular resumé with details of extracurricular interests and activities
  • Application photo
  • Copy of your last two school reports
  • Evidence/certificates of internships or courses already completed (e.g. foreign languages, computer)
  • If under 18 years of age: consent of parents

How far in advance should I apply for an apprenticeship?

We start the selection process for apprentices around a year before the start of the apprenticeship program. You can find out whether we have any free places and if so how many under "Jobs/Germany".

How long does the apprenticeship last?

In general, 3 years. If you performed well at school and also do well in the workplace there is a possibility that the apprenticeship program will be reduced by six months.

Does any of the apprenticeship training take place in the workplace?

Of course. During the course of the program as part of your in-house training you will take part in a whole series of seminars and workshops on a very wide variety of subjects.

What sort of mentoring is there during the apprenticeship?

Supervision is provided by the Training Manager from Human Resources as well as by the Training Manager in the individual specialist departments.

What are the chances of a job after my apprenticeship?

It is important to us to offer a permanent position to all apprentices who want to stay with us and who have proven themselves in training. Your chances are therefore good.

What are the opportunities for continuous professional development at GfK after my apprenticeship?

You will get to know the GfK Group every day through the varied activities in your job. In addition, you will receive special training to support your continuous professional development.
