What does the Market Information Management course include?

The Market Information Management course in the Faculty of Business Administration and Social Studies at the University of Erlangen Nuremberg is an interdisciplinary course aimed at practice-oriented research and teaching in Information Management. Developed in conjunction with the GfK Group, the university course is unique in Germany and is designed for students in the advanced phase of their business administration and economics studies.

Is this course a type of dual vocational training similar to a university of cooperative education?

No. This course can be chosen as a specialist subject as part of the advanced study stage of a business administration and economics course at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. This course does not therefore constitute dual training with placements in the GfK Group, but a specialism within a traditional business administration degree course. However, the concept behind and delivery of the training program is supported by the GfK Group.

To what extent is this course relevant in practice to GfK?

The course aims to provide highly practice-oriented training through direct contact with the GfK Group for both lecturers and students and through the corresponding research work (including degree thesis). Interesting internships are also offered in Germany and abroad along with highly practice-oriented theses for students taking this course.

To promote practice-oriented training as part of the Market Information Management course, various options are offered for students to choose from. These include a voluntary internship at our head office in Nuremberg which is guaranteed to all students taking the course. After successful completion of an internship in Germany, there is also the option of an internship abroad with the GfK Group.
