Great Place To Work

Have you successfully completed your studies with great results? Are you now looking for a suitable career? Then come and see the chances that the GfK Group can offer you.

Market researchers are market shapers – the ideal career for graduates who want to make a difference. Social skills, personality and creativity are essential. We are looking for future colleagues who are ambitious, able to work independently but also great team players. You know from your own personal experience that the chemistry in the team has to be right if the work is going to be fun. And the work is only good when it is fun – even when times are stressful. As part of our team of experienced research and marketing professionals, you will make rapid progress and will soon be taking responsibility for your own clients. There are also great career opportunities in our central services departments - IT Services, Financial Services, Corporate Communications and Human Resources.

Depending on your degree and personal career ambitions, your specialist area and where you wish to start, we offer a whole range of opportunities for you to turn your dreams into reality. There are many ways to join the GfK Group. The direct route with your own personal training program is perhaps not always the easiest one, but for those who have mastered it, it is the route that will bring you quickest to your goals. As a graduate with some practical experience in the form of an internship or working student program, you are ideally placed to successfully pursue this course.

As a result of our flat hierarchical structure at GfK, your job title or length of service is not what counts but your performance, commitment and expertise. Consequently you yourself determine how quickly you climb up the career ladder. For people just starting out on their careers this opens up extraordinary opportunities. Wherever you start, by working independently as part of a team and in project groups you will be given responsibilities from the outset and the chance to prove yourself. People who choose to embark on their careers with GfK can be sure that they will not only be challenged but also encouraged and promoted. Talk to your future colleagues when you have the chance and hear for yourself.

General requirements for direct entry:

  • University degree, preferably in business administration, economics, social sciences, psychology, statistics or IT
  • Good grades and ideally an excellent academic record
  • Evidence of practical experience
  • Very good foreign language skills, especially English
  • Very good knowledge of current standard software

If like some of our executive managers, you wish to do your doctorate with the GfK Group, there are various avenues for you to choose from. You can choose the approach that best suits you:

a) You can do your PhD as an employee of the GfK Group in a division of your choice

b) You can work on a GfK project as part of your doctor’s thesis as an employee of a university.

If you decide on option a), you choose the subject matter, your PhD adviser and your university yourself. Whilst writing your PhD you are employed by the GfK Group on a limited contract and well-paid part-time basis. This enables you to get to know the company and gain valuable experience by working directly in a specialist department.

Under option b) the department you work in and the subject matter of your doctoral thesis and university are decided jointly by GfK and your university. Whilst writing your PhD you are employed by the university.

Either way, this route enables you to join GfK at a high entry level and to really learn about the GfK Group.
