Continuing professional development

The much talked about knowledge society has been part and parcel of everyday life at the GfK Group for a long time. As a member of our team, we expect you to have a fresh approach to your working life and to never stop asking the right questions. We support this lifelong learning with extensive further training and personal development measures. The appraisal forms the basis of your targeted development, and is carried out in a structured and systematic manner between you and your line manager once a year as part of the appraisal system. The findings and suggestions resulting from the appraisal are incorporated into an individual development plan which sets out your personal development measures. These include training courses, seminars, language courses and other "on-the-job" and "near-the-job" training measures.

After joining us, you will normally start to take responsibility very quickly through independent working. During this time you will be supported by your personal mentor. Together with your mentor you will implement your individual induction program which will help you familiarize yourself with your remit and to "get on” in our company.

After your trial period, you will receive detailed feedback from your line manager. You will find out where you stand and what your future with the GfK Group could be. Together you will define your personal targets and check whether you have a realistic assessment of your potential. This will open up a range of surprising opportunities and new and exciting challenges. Further training in your specialist area and across other sectors, which is agreed with you at this meeting or in other meetings, will help you become an even more important part of our company.

Your development and progress is essential to the success of the GfK Group. Personnel development and lifelong learning are therefore key priorities at GfK. We offer you extraordinary opportunities to achieve your professional goals through

  • Individually agreed personnel development measures,
  • Internal training and further training opportunities in customer service, communications, management, languages etc.,
  • Structured development and progression programs for various functions,
  • International employee exchange program

To reiterate, if you choose to start your career with the GfK Group you can be sure that you will be challenged and encouraged from the outset. Through your performance, commitment and conduct you will determine the pace and direction of your development yourself. If you are constantly learning and developing, demonstrate initiative and entrepreneurial approach and action you will make good progress in the GfK Group very quickly. The flat hierarchies of the GfK Group, so unusual in a company of this size, will boost this progress.
