Dubai, 15 Februray 2010 – GfK UAE reports for 2009 has been released and according to the audits, the UAE Technical Market has declined year on year. The said decline records a huge slump of -25.1% against Q1-Q4 of 2008.

Early in 2009, the country has seen positive signs in the areas of IT and Office Equipment, however, as the Global financial crisis resumes for the rest of 2009, these Sectors were not able to improve the sales performances and experienced great challenges throughout the year.

This reflects in sloping sales both in Volume and Value Turnover due to continuous price erosions. Despite the fact of losing market shares and decreasing market size, 2009 has seen good performances in certain seasons including GITEX period which, although never produced the same sales as GITEX 2008, it is close enough to indicate that the market is still seeing huge potentials for 2010.
