Sydney, 12 February 2010 – Despite three months of consecutive interest rate hikes and a small subsequent downturn in consumer sentiment, Australians remained positive with their spending on technical consumer goods in quarter 4, up 4.0% versus quarter 4, 2008. This brings Australia's total spend in this marketplace to $19.4 billion in 2009, 7.1% higher than 2008.
