GfK’s global Health practice, with over 500 experts worldwide, has named new leaders for teams in North America and Germany/Switzerland.
Pankaj Thapar has joined the company as Health Industry Lead for North America, following successive leadership roles at QuintilesIMS and ZS Associates. He will be based on the West Coast, in GfK’s Bay Area offices in San Francisco and Sunnyvale, CA.
Jan Güse will move to a similar leadership role in the Germany/Switzerland region, effective May 1. Most recently, Güse has been responsible for data analytics and innovation across industry sectors in the Netherlands. Before joining GfK, Güse held a variety of sales and marketing roles at large pharmaceutical companies.

Both have proven themselves to be highly effective client advisors and business leaders.”
Thapar joined QuintilesIMS following its acquisition of AlphaDetail where he focused on market research and strategy solutions for large pharma and biotech companies focused on specialty and oncology therapies. Previously he was with ZS Associates.
Thapar is a trained physician who practiced medicine in India before switching to a career in research and consulting. He earned his MBA from The Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University and holds a Bachelor in Medicine and Surgery from Mumbai University.
Jan Güse has been with GfK Netherlands for almost 10 years, holding various leadership roles including Head of Data Analytics, Managing Director of the Health business, and Director of Global Healthcare Solutions.
Earlier in his career, Güse held sales, marketing and market research roles at Roche and Eli Lilly in the Netherlands. He was educated at the University of Amsterdam.
