Vehicle infotainment systems are becoming more feature rich and complicated with each generation. But are they getting easier to use?
Our user experience (UX) experts set out to see how much improvement has been made on the day-to-day features and functions that customers use the most. Perhaps the most surprising research outcome was that the issues we uncovered were found in a similar study run by GfK in Germany three years ago.
While the results were somewhat disappointing, with all systems causing users some level of difficulty around one or more basic tasks, such as pairing a phone and setting a navigation location, a few minor design tweaks could have a large impact on the user experience.
